Independence day observed with patriotic fervor in DK; In-charge minister hoists flag

Mangaluru: The 76th Indian Independence Day was celebrated with partiotic zeal in Dakshina Kannada on Monday, August 15.

As part of the celebrations, Karnataka Minister for Energy, Kannada and Culture and DK District in-charge minister V. Sunil Kumar hoisted the national flag at Nehru Maidan in the city. He also received a salute from the marching contingents.

MLAs Vedavyasa Kamath, and Dr. Bharat Shetty, Mangaluru Mayor Premanand Shetty, DK Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra KV, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kumar, District Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Bhagwan Sonavane, and MCC Commissioner Akshy Sridhar, among others, were present.
