Mangaluru: Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader has expressed strong opposition to India playing cricket matches against Pakistan in foreign countries.

Speaking to reporters about the upcoming India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match scheduled to be held in New York on the 9th, Khader highlighted the historical tensions between the two nations.

Khader recalled past incidents where Pakistani players allegedly sabotaged Indian cricket pitches.

“As long as they trouble us, we should not play with them,” he stated emphatically.

He also pointed out that movement between the two countries has been restricted, questioning the rationale behind organizing matches in neutral venues like Dubai and New York.

“Why then take Pakistani players to Dubai, New York, and play with Indian players there?” he asked. “What would happen if we did not play with them?”

Despite his stance on the matter, Khader identified himself as a cricket enthusiast and player. He expressed his support for the Indian team.
