India Sowing for Rabi Crop reaches 628.34 lakh hectares till Jan 20

New Delhi: As per the preliminary reports received from the states, the total area sown for Rabi crops in India as on January 20 stands at 628.34 lakh hectares, higher when compared to 592.36 lakh hectare during the same period in 2016.  

Wheat has been sown on area of 313.14 lakh hectares followed by rice in 19.36 lakh hectares, pulses in 157.68 lakh hectares, coarse cereals in 56.25 lakh hectares and area sown under oilseeds is stands 81.91 lakh hectares. The area sown so far and area sown during the same period last year is given below
