Indian Railways manufactures 2.6 lac masks and 25000 litres of sanitizer

In measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Indian Railways is making efforts to enhance the health care initiatives of Government of India. Indian Railways has so far manufactured around 2.6 lac masks and 25000 litres of sanitizer.

Central Railway produced 22,580 masks and 2693 litres of sanitizer, Western Railway produced 46,313 masks and 700 litres of sanitizer, North Central Railway manufactured 26,567 masks and 3100 litres of sanitizer and Eastern Railway manufactured 14,800 masks and 2620 litres of sanitizer.

As delivery operations are running 24X7 to maintain delivery of essential products and goods supplies, the operation and maintenance staff are working day and night.

To ensure safety of the staff, all workplaces have masks and hand sanitizers which are being made available by the zonal railways, even to the contract labourers.
