Innovation: MSME ministry sanction Rs 11.5 lakhs to Dr. Sachin Bhat of SMVITM

Bhatkal: Under the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) Incubation scheme, Dr. Sachin Bhat, from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM) has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 11.5 lakhs for his innovation “Surgical Sponge Detection System”.

Dr. Sachin, a resident of Shirali, had his innovation got selected in the Hackathon 2022, organized by the Ministry MSME, Government of India, recently.

The innovation is said to help doctors to detect any issues in the usage of surgical sponges. It will also be helping the doctors to avoid any surgical complications.

Meanwhile, the college administration has praised and congratulated Dr. Sachin’s achievement.
