Bengaluru: Farmers, agriculture students, officials and scientists while receiving phone calls must greet with ‘Jai Kisan’ instead of ‘Hello’ as this will show the world the social power of the “Annadaata,” said State’s Agriculture Minister B C Patil.
Speaking at GKVK, the Minister further said that the Department of Agriculture and the Agriculture University are two sides of a coin. Officials and scientists must be close to the farmers and help them in saving labour in growing crops. Farmers must grow multiple crops instead of a single one. Farmers will be given identity cards by which they can proudly claim to be a self-respecting farmer.
Scientists from the University of Agriculture should work hard to deliver the technologies to the farmer’s home just as any private company promotes their new products. No matter which part of the world one is from all have to bow down to the farmers as without them it is impossible to live, the Minister opined.
