‘Integrated transport hub plans at Pumpwell cleared’

Mangaluru: The proposal by Mangaluru Smart City Limited (MSCL) to build an integrated transport hub (bus terminal) at Pumpwell has been cleared informed the Urban Development Minister Byrathi Basavaraj here.
The minister made this announcement at a review meeting of the works by MSCL and Mangaluru City Corporation and added that the Cabinet approval for the same will happen soon.
MSCL Managing Director Mohammed Nazir stated that tenders for the construction will be released after the cabinet approval.
The hub will be constructed on seven acres of land in the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The project will cost an estimated Rs 500 crores.
Another project – a 400 vehicle parking lot at Central Market – was also discussed in the meeting.
Nazir said that tenders were released for the parking lot twice without any response. It will be floated for a third time with two agencies in the fray.
The minister told Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh and Mohammed Nazir to ensure speedy completion of all developmental works under the Smart City Mission.
