Interest on medium and long term agri loans waived off: BS Yediyurappa

Halebid: The state governemnt has decided to waive off all interests on mid and long term loans borrowed from Cooperative Societies and Primary Agriculture Land Development Banks.
Chief Minister Yediyurappa stated this to reporters before the valedictory of the Taralabalu Hunnime programme here.
He said that those farmers who have taken a mid or long term loan to purchase tractors, tillers and allied agricultural equipment need not pay the interest anymore.
Yediyurappa also hinted that the State budget will be pro farmer and agriculture claiming that the State government has already announced a support price for paddy and will be soon filling the tanks in the state from their nearby reservoirs.
