Investigation about pack of currency notes found in Pumpwell is on: M’luru Compol

Mangaluru: In relation to the pack of currency notes found at the parking area near the Pumpwell bus stand on November 26, Mangaluru Police Commissioner N Shashikumar briefed the media on Wednesday, December 7.
He said, “A person named Shivaraj had seen a pack of currency notes lying at the parking area near the Pumpwell bus stand. He had picked it up and given some to the person named Tukaram. Later Tukaram’s family handed over Rs. 2.99 lakhs to the police. Shivaraj who had Rs. 49,000 out of the bundle is also handed over to the police.”
“Currently, the investigation regarding how much money was there in the pack, who had kept it, whether has anyone taken money from it, etc, is on”, he added.
Meanwhile, he has requested people to return the money and submit it to the police, if taken. He has assured the public that they will not be booked, on submitting the currency notes.
