IPS officer Alok Mohan appointed top cop of Karnataka

Senior IPS officer Alok Mohan has been appointed the chief of the police force in Karnataka.
The state government in a notification appointed Alok Mohan, a 1987-batch officer, as the Director General of Police and Inspector General of Police (DG & IGP) for the state police force.
Prior to this assignment, Mohan held the positions of Director General of Police (DGP), Director General of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Director of Civil Defence.
Alok Mohan had been assigned the additional charge of DG & IGP on May 21, following the appointment of his predecessor Praveen Sood as the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
