During Oscar’s ceremony held Sunday night, the Academy paid tribute to those actors we have lost in 2020.
Indian artists Irrfan Khan, and Bhanu Athaiya were remembered, alongside Chadwick Boseman and other Hollywood stars
Bhanu Athaiya was the first Oscar winner from India. She won the Oscars for the Best Costume design in 1982, for the film Gandhi. Irrfan Khan was an international actor who died after a long battle with cancer on April 29.
Rishi Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput were missing from the list. However, they were remembered on the website of the Academy Awards in a special In Memoriam section.
Hollywood Actor Chadwick Boseman who died of Colon cancer at the age of 43, was paid a powerful tribute. He has the distinction of being the only posthumously nominated actor at this year’s show, for his role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
Hollywood stars Ian Holm, Sean Connery Max von Sydow and Christopher Plummer were also mentioned
