Islamic jihad not money could be reason behind priests’ murder: Muthalik

Mandya: Hardline Hindu activist Pramod Muthalik has stated that Islamic jihad may have been behind the murder of the three priests at the city’s Arkeshwar temple, therefore, a thorough investigation should be conducted into it.

“The murder of a temple priest is reprehensible. There are CCTV cameras on all sides of the temple set up by the Muzrai department. But do the department officials check whether the cameras are working or must be repaired?” questioned Muthalik.

“Officials of the Muzrai Department should be suspended immediately. It is highly suspicious that stealing the hundi money was the reason behind the murder. Islamic jihad may have been at work in this incident to create an atmosphere of terror. Stealing the money from the hundi may have been a diversionary tactic,” Muthalik added.

“Why was the CCTV camera not fixed. What sickness has caught the Muzrai department? With so much revenue in hand, how could they let such a disaster to happen,” Muthalik said.
