IT Department Seizes Rs 11 Cr Cash from Karnataka Minister DK Shivakumar’s Residences Till Now

Bengaluru: Income Tax (IT) officials have raided the residences, offices of Congress leader, Karnataka State Energy Minister DK Shivakumar, his close associates and relatives at 39 different locations in Karnataka and New Delhi on Wednesday morning. The raid is still in initial stage and is expected to continue for two to three days. The officers reportedly seized Rs 11 crore cash from the minister’s residence located in New Delhi, Karnataka and further details on the raid is yet to be known.
Residences, offices of the minister and his close associates located in Bengaluru, New Delhi and other parts of Karnataka are being checked by the IT department since early morning hours of August 2. As of now, the minister is being brought to Bengaluru by the IT officials from a private resort here after a raid on the room where he stayed since last evening.
Meanwhile, IT department has clarified that the raid is limited to only on the Congress leader and his close associates. Congress MLAs from Gujarat are not targeted by IT even if the officers raided the resort where MLAs being kept by the minister since last week as part of the political strategy of Congress in the wake of next Rajya Sabha polls scheduled next week.
