Kalburagi: Minister for Mines and Geology Murugesh Nirani on Monday said that it is better to extend the state-wide lockdown by another 10 days
Speaking to the reporters here, Nirani said, ” Although for the past three days, Covid-19 cases in urban areas have been decreased, cases in rural areas are on a rise. In my opinion, it is better to extend the state-wide lockdown by another 10 days. I have informed the Chief Minister and his decision will be final. We will also take suggestions from PM Modi.”
He further said, “In order to avoid oxygen shortage, ten tankers have been supplied from the Department of Mines. In the next 10 days, Two oxygen tankers will be given to each section. All the necessary measures have already been taken to tackle the third wave of the pandemic”
“Also, several cases of black fungus have been reported from Kalburagi. We will take necessary steps to prevent the spread,” he added
