Bengaluru: KPCC President DK Shivakumar on Monday said that we will join hands with the government in saving the lives of the people and let BJP approve the ‘Rs 100 crore plan’ prepared by Congress to procure Covid-19 vaccines directly from manufacturers and administer them to the people of the state.
Speaking to the reporters, DKS said, ” Saving lives of the people is our priority. Developmental works can be done later. We have decided to use the development funds for the direct procurement of vaccines. This is not a programme sponsored by Congress. The government can utilise 25 percent of the Rs 2 Cr MLA/MLC funds for procuring vaccines. We have made a Rs 100 Cr plan and sought permission from the government.”
“We have a total of 93 MLAs and council members. We are even ready to beg our party workers for the rest of the money. Let government approve the project and we will join hands with the government,” he added.
