It is in student’s best interest to conduct PUC II exams, opines Min Suresh Kumar

Bengaluru: Education Minister S Suresh Kumar has said that it is in the best interest of the second year pre-university students to conduct their final examinations.
Speaking at the meeting of State’s education ministers organized by the Central government’s Ministry of Education, the minister said that it was imperative for the second year PU students to undergo some form of examination as preparation for higher or vocational education.
“Presently, due to the pandemic, it was decided that 15-20 days prior to the examination its schedule will be announced. The Karnataka government is also planning to allow students who fail to appear for the exam due to COVID-19 to appear for it within this year,” the minister said.
“Preparation of question papers for the second year PU examination has been completed. Examination centres are also being significantly increased. All precautions have been taken to conduct the tests very safely. If the examinations are held in July, then it will be possible to declare the results in August. Additionally, NEET, JEE, CET, ICAR and other competitive examinations could be held on appropriate dates in August,” Kumar further said.
It was reported that in the meeting, most of the education minister’s of the States supported conducting State-level and CBSE class 12 examinations.
