IT raids on prominent business persons in Hubballi

Hubballi:  Income Tax Department sleuths on Thursday raided the residences and offices of two well-known personalities in business and industry in the city.

Raids were being conducted at the residence of Sanjay Mishra, who runs a chain of sweet marts under the brand name Big Mishra and the house and office of well-known realtor Krishna Kalaburgi. Raids are also being held on residences of those who invested in the business of Mishra, informed sources.

It is gathered that around 40 sleuths carried out raids at six locations in the city. The officials had taken the help of officials of neighbouring states to conduct surprise checks.

According to sources, the officials are currently going through documents pertaining to their business.
