Bengaluru: “It was our party that made you Chief Minister and your father and JD(S) supremo HD Devegowda the Prime Minister of India,” said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee chief DK Shivakumar on Monday, December 28 slamming HD Kumaraswamy.
Shivakumar was addressing party workers during the 136th foundation day celebration of the Congress held at Congress Bhavan here.
Shivakumar was responding to a recent statement by HD Kumaraswamy that Congress leaders are wearing green shawls because their party flag has lost its glory.
DK Shivakumar further warned, “You can make any remarks about me but do not make any comments on Congress party or flag.”
“Congress party was founded by many iconic leaders and it is a historic day for us. It is an honour for our party workers to wear the tricolour flag,” he added.
After a two-and-half-year of bonhomie, HD Kumaraswamy and DK Shivakumar’s relationship appeared to have parted ways with the two accusing each other.
