Ivan D’Souza trying to divide Christians: CDC Chairman

Team Udayavani, Nov 21, 2020, 1:37 PM IST

Mangaluru: Chairman of the State’s Christian Development Committee Joylus D’Souza has accused former MLC Ivan D’Souza of attempting to divide the Christian community on political lines with the demand for a Christian Development Corporation.

Joylus said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’ policy has been well implemented in the State.

The Yediyurappa government had allocated Rs 50 crore in the year 2011-12 and Rs 200 crore in 2020-21 to the Committee. This has become intolerable for Ivan and hence he is trying to divide the community on party lines, Joylus alleged.

What is his contribution to his own community? While he was an MLC he was very close to Siddaramaiah, why did he not think of the betterment of Christians then? What he is saying right now is all false concern, Joylus said.
