Mangaluru: Former MLA J R Lobo filed a complaint with the city police commissioner here, in connection to a viral video that purpotedly shows pro-Pakistan slogans being raised during Congress victory celebration on May 19th. The complaint was filed on Monday, May 21st.

Lobo said, “On May 19, there was a victory celebration at Congress office to mark Congress-JD(S) alliance. During the celebration there were no speeches, we just raised pro-Congress slogans. The very next day a video was circulated in social media claiming that pro-Pakistan slogans were raised during the celebration. The video was doctored. We are not traitors to raise such slogans but we have been labelled as traitors in social media.”

“A person named Roopesh Shet made the video viral claiming that pro-Pakistan slogans were raised. This is a serious issue which needs to be looked into. This is not good for our country as well as for the people. We have also filed a complaint in Kadri police station and FIR has been lodged,” informed Lobo.

“During the celebration even KSRP and CRPF squads along with the media were present. This video is completely doctored. We urge stringent action against the culprits who did this and they should be put behind bars. We have faith in police commissioner Vipul Kumar that he will take action against the same,” added Lobo.

“The video is been circulated in social media showing Pakistan sloganeering during the victory celebration. We were ready to file a suo motto case against it but someone has already come forward to complaint. As I have said before, we will come down heavily on those who create divide by circulating message through social media which has potential to disturb law and order. I assure that firm action will be taken against the miscreants who have done this,” assured Police commissioner Vipul Kumar.

“During the celebration a person named Samarth Bhat was live on Facebook. In the first video there were pro-Congress slogans. Later Samarth asked his friend to continue the Facebook live, during which pro-Pakistan slogans were raised,” informed the commissioner.
