Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Saturday said that BJP leader and former union minister Arun Jaitely’s untimely passing away has come as a rude shock to him as the former excelled in Indian politics in the recent years as a best financial and development expert.
“His acumen in Indian politics on financial matters came to fore when he joined Narendra Modi’s cabinet as finance minister. His apt handling of India’s finances and economy made even his adversaries in the field to look at him with awe. He handled the Indian economy with utmost deftness. He not only made the Indian economy to stabilize, he even made the economy to grow at a high rate,” Yediyurappa added.
He further added, “Jaitely’s death is a huge loss to me as I have lost a leader and guide in his death. He was very close to my heart and recently twenty days ago when I called on him, he was in high praise of me on my political achievements, particularly the BJP’s unprecedented victory in Karnataka where we faced coalition set up of Congress.”
” We all in the state mourn his death. I mourn and also pray the god to give strength to his family members who have lost their dear one,” Yediyurappa said.
