Moodabidri: The 25th international cultural jamboree of the Scouts and Guides will undoubtedly be a huge success under the able leadership of Dr. Mohan Alva, opined P G R Sindhia of the Karnataka chapter of Bharat Scouts and Guides.

Speaking to Udayavani, Sindhia said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had requested all associations and universities to celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrita Mahotsav’ in a meaningful way. “As part of that, we decided to celebrate the international cultural jamboree of the Scouts and Guides in a unique way. Dr. Mohan Alva came forward to organise it. This will be a huge platform to convey the greatness of Indian values and culture to the world,” he said.

Sindhia lauded the arrangements made for accommodating the participants arriving from all corners of India as well as abroad. “All arrangements are made here for the success of the Jamboree. An atmosphere showcasing Indian culture has been created here… We have received cooperation from all corners for organizing this mega event. I feel this will turn out to be sort of a new record,” he added.

Udayavani also spoke to participants who have arrived for the Jamboree. Scout Officer from Jabalpur in Madhyapradesh said  “20 scout guides have come with me. They (the organizers) have arranged good catering. We have come early… It is a joy to see such a large number of children congregating together.”

A Sout member and a student from Kavidham in Chattisgarh said that the trip to Moodabidri was a unique experience for him. “I have come to Karnataka for the first time. The atmosphere here is really good. I am seeing the areca nut and coconut plantations for the first time. I have seen National Jamboree in Hyderabad. But the atmosphere is quite different,” he said.
