Janardhana Reddy cancels Ballari visit after testing Covid-19 positive

Bellary: Former minister and mining baron G. Janardhana Reddy canceled his scheduled trip to Ballari, to attend the funeral rites after testing positive for Covid-19 infection.
Reddy is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru.
On August 27, the Supreme Couty granted permission to Reddy, an accused in illegal mining case to visit Bellary in Karnataka, for two days i.e August 30,31 for attending the last rites ceremony of his close associate B Sriramulu Reddy’s mother.
“Reddy is permitted to visit district Bellary, Karnataka, for two days, that too under the police protection on August 30, 2020, and return on September 01, 2020,” the supreme court bench made it clear in its order.
However on Saturday, Reddy underwent a test and he was found to be positive for Covid-19.
Confirming his Covid-19 infection, in a Facebook post Reddy said “Today evening I tested positive for COVID-19 and I am admitted to COVID-19 hospital for treatment. Therefore, I will not be able to attend the last rites ceremony of my best friend, Health Minister B Sriramulu’s mother.
I don’t have any symptoms, however, I tested positive. A good team of doctors is treating me here. With all your blessings I will recover soon.”
Sriramulu and several others have whished Reddy a speedy recovery.
