Bengaluru: The ‘Janata curfew’ call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a good response in Karnataka on Sunday as the entire state was in a self-imposed lockdown to fight the coronavirus.

Roads, railway stations in several districts of the state wore a deserted look today morning. Streets were empty and shops and business establishments remained shut in the state.

All pubs, bars, malls, theatres, buses, and railways, among other services, also remained closed in the state’s capital.

Cab aggregators like OLA and Uber were also non-operational today. Tanveer Pasha, President, Ola Uber Drivers, and Owners Association said, “We completely support the Janata curfew. Our services like Ola, Uber autos and taxis will not be available on Sunday.”

Karnataka has so far recorded 21 cases of coronavirus.
