Bengaluru: Following BJP MLA B.N. Vijay Kumar’s untimely demise on Friday, shops and private establishments in Jayanagar Third and Fourth blocks remained closed, as a symbol of mourning for the sober soul. His office in 4T Block was also deserted. Residents of Jayanagar are deeply saddened by his death and simultaneously, worried about the prospect of the election results in the constituency. There will not be any election in the constituency until fresh nominations are announced.

Janata Dal (Secular) candidate Kale Gowda, Congress candidate Sowmya Reddy and independent candidate Ravi Krishna Reddy from the Jayanagar constituency have all suspended their campaigning activities temporarily as a mark of respect for Mr. Vijay Kumar.
