JC Wadiyar was ‘monarch-democrat’: President Kovind

Mysuru: Describing Mysore Maharaja Jayachamaraja as the most eminent monarch-democrat, President Ram Nath Kovind said that the best tribute one can pay to the late maharaja was by emulating his values in our daily life.
The President also released a book ‘Srividya Sankeerthana Sudhalahari’ on the occasion of the birth centenary celebrations of Maharaja Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar, held at Mysuru palace here on Thursday.
The book contains both literature and musical notes, in Kannada and Devanagari script of 94 Carnatic classical music compositions of JC Wadiyar.
Mysuru titular king Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja, queen mother Pramoda Devi, princess Trishika Kumari and royal members of the Wadiyar clan graced the occasion.
Earlier, the President also unveiled the plaque of Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Centre for Higher Education and Learning.
