Bengaluru: JD(S) Chief Ministerial candidate HD Kumaraswamy has written to the Governor of Karnataka that the party has accepted the offer of the Congress to form the Government. With the BJP requiring only a few seats to emerge as a clear majority in the State, the Congress has quickly and cleverly joined hands with the JD(S).

Both the parties have agreed that HD Kumaraswamy, son of former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, will be made the Chief Minister of the coalition government. The Congress will have the opportunity to name a Dalit leader as the Deputy Chief Minister. While the parties have all arrived at a decision, the next step has to be taken by the Governor Vajubhai Vala.
