JD(S) leader hacked to death in Kanakapura

Kanakapura: A local leader of the JD(S) was hacked to death by three unidentified persons in Kanakapura town police station limits here on Monday evening.

RT Raja Gopal, 42, of P Ramapura in Kasaba hobli is the deceased. He was the General Secretary of the Ramanagara district JD(S) Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Morcha and was also into real estate business. 

The incident occurred at around 7 pm on Monday when Raja Gopal was having tea at a hotel nearby his residence. Reportedly he stepped out of the hotel to answer a call he had received when he was assaulted by the gang. Raja Gopal who sustained injuries on face and neck died on the spot, police said.

Raja Gopal is survived by his father, mother, wife and brothers.

Following the deadly assault on Raja Gopal, JD(S) leaders staged a protest demanding the arrest of the accused.
