Mysuru: District in-charge Minister G T Devegowda, on Wednesday said that the JD(S) workers in Chamundeshwari Assembly segment supported BJP and voted for BJP candidate Pratap Simha in Lok Sabha election.
Addressing presspersons here he said that the JD(S) workers themselves told that they voted for BJP. Despite JD(S) – Congress coalition fielded CH Vijayashankar, the JD(S) did not support Congress in Lok Sabha election in Chamundeshwari.
It may be recalled during 2018 assembly elections, the JD(S) and Congress supporters took elections in personal and it was projected as caste politics between Vokkaliga and Kuruba community. While JD(S) fielded G T Devegowda, former chief minister Siddaramaiah, who belongs to Kuruba community, was the Congress candidate during Assembly elections. However, Siddaramaiah was defeated by Devegowda.
