Mysuru: GT Devegowda, the JD(S) MLA who defeated former chief minister Siddaramaiah from the Chamundeshwari constituency in the 2018 election, has stated that he is in talks with Congress leaders to join the party.

The senior leader in the HD Deve Gowda-led party openly expressed his displeasure on being sidelined and cornered in the JD(S).

“Even though I am a sitting MLA, I was not invited to many meetings of the party. It was made to look as if I intentionally skipped them,” Devegowda said.

“I have spoken to the party supremo Deve Gowda and told him about the humiliation meted out to me. I also told him that I have already spoken to Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar,” he added.

He also expressed his anger against KR Nagar MLA Sa Ra Mahesh saying that Kumaraswamy is projecting him as the leader in the Mysuru region.

“Sa Ra Mahesh is nothing without Kumaraswamy’s support. Recently, a party delegation from Mysuru appealed to Kumaraswamy to make me the party’s Mysuru district president, however, he supported Mahesh. It was a big humiliation for me,” Devegowda said.
