Bengaluru/Chennai: Private carrier Jet Airways announced the addition of two international flights — Chennai-Paris and Bengaluru-Amsterdam — in its network from October this year, the bookings for which have commenced.
The Bengaluru-Amsterdam service will be daily service while the Chennai-Paris flight five days a week, Jet Airways said in a release.
The new services will be operated by the wide-bodied Airbus A330 aircraft.
These new flights will complement the airlines existing direct operations from Delhi and Mumbai to Amsterdam and onwards to Toronto as well as direct flights from Mumbai to Paris, it said.
The proposed flights will commence operations from October 29 this year, it said.
The launch of these new routes will enable passengers to travel to destinations in Europe and North America with Jet Airways codeshare partners Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Delta Air Lines, who will place their respective codes on the service, Jet Airways said.
According to it, the addition of the Bengaluru and Chennai flights will make Jet Airways the only airline to offer direct non-stop services between these cities and will offer its passengers the option of travel to Europe and North America through three European gateways enabling fliers to travel through one gateway and return via another.
Through its European gateways of Amsterdam and Paris, Jet Airways will offer passengers from Chennai and Bengaluru seamless one-stop connectivity to 35 destinations across Europe and 24 destinations in the United States, Canada and Mexico with the three codeshare partners, the airline said.
Currently, Jet Airways connects to major European cities via Amsterdam and Paris, the release said adding similarly, guests can travel to major destinations across North America as well.
