Job applicant prints his resume on company’s flyers, lands a job

In order to land their dream job, job seekers frequently come up with innovative or out-of-the-box ideas for sending applications.

Because the goal is to attract employers’ attention, many applicants develop their own application style that differs from the standard procedure of sending emails or letters.

Jonathan Swift discovered an opening for a job he sought at a printing firm in the United Kingdom. So he did something different to set himself out from the crowd.

The 24-year-old was submitting an application to Instantprint, a printing company situated in Yorkshire. He recycled the company’s flyers by printing his LinkedIn resume on them instead of e-mailing his résumé.

Swift had his resume printed on fliers and distributed them to every automobile in the company’s parking area.

Swift’s application stunt was noticed by the company’s marketing manager, who was in charge of the position’s hiring.

After being instructed by security to take a closer look, Craig Wassell observed Swift’s actions on CCTV. Swift’s application had such an impact on him that he called him for an interview right away.

The video of Swift installing the app on cars has now been posted to the company’s Twitter page.

“When I looked out of the office window, I could already see that someone had been around leaving flyers on all the car windscreens, and upon closer inspection, it became apparent that the flyers more closely were, in fact, an application for the role I was hiring for. Naturally, we immediately invited Jonathan in for an interview,” said Wassell.

Despite the fact that the organisation received over 140 applications, Swift was chosen for the position.
