Mangaluru/Udupi: With the end of Lockdown 4.0, hotels and restaurants across the State are expecting to receive permission to restart their eateries soon.
The State government has already notified the possibility of opening hotels from June 1 but is awaiting an order from Central government.
Speaking to Udayavani, district presidents of restaurant and hotel owners association Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy and Tallur Shivarama Shetty said, “We have sent an official appeal to the Chief Minister through the State hotels and restaurants owners association. The Chief Minister responded by saying that he is awaiting an order regarding this from the central government.”
They also stated that most of the workers in the eateries in the twin districts are from outside the district and presently all of them have returned to their homes.
All of them need to be called back so even if the permission is granted to restart our services, it will take about a week’s time from June 1 to fully restart hotels and restaurants, added Shenoy and Shetty.
