Justice Dinesh Maheshwari was born in the year 1958. He graduated with a degree in law from Jodhpur University. He practiced as a lawyer in various cities of Rajasthan and in the year 2004 he was promoted as Judge of the Rajasthan High Court. He also served as Judge in the Allahabad High Court in the year 2014. He took charge of the Meghalaya High Court in the year 2016. Justice Maheshwari specialises in civil and constitutional matters.
Justice Maheshwari will be leaving his current position as Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court to take over as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court before February 20. Justice Maheshwari’s appointment is made amidst the week-long hunger strike by the advocates in the state for appointment of judges as only 24 judges are appointed in the High Court against the total sanctioned strength of 62.
