Bengaluru: In relation to the investigation of Belagavi contractor Santosh Patil’s death case, former minister K S Eshwarappa has been given clean chit by the Udupi Police in the ‘B’ Report.

Reacting to this, Eshwarappa on Wednesday said, “I was confident that I would come out clean in the investigation. I had repeatedly said that I did not have any connections with Santosh. I was deeply hurt when I was accused of his death. But now, I’m happy and satisfied that my words are proven right”.

Meanwhile, from the ‘B’ Report submitted by the Udupi police it is understood that due to the lack of evidence against Eshwarappa, he has been given a clean chit.

It can be recalled that on April 12, contractor Santosh committed suicide in connection to a “40 percent commission” allegation against Eshwarappa for sanctioning funds for rural development projects. At that point in time, Eshwarappa was the state minister for rural development. After the allegations, the BJP high command had told him to step down from the ministerial chair.
