‘KA-19 v/s COVID-19’ billboard unveiled by KCCI creates buzz on social media

Mangaluru: A outdoor billboard unveiled by the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) near Ambedkar circle that read KA-19 v/s COVID-19 (KA-19 being the Vehicle Registration Code for the District) have been particularly making a buzz in the community.
KCCI had unveiled a campaign both on digital media and outdoor billboards on bringing awareness on the right usage of masks, social distancing and handwashing in the fight against COVID-19. The campaign has received a very good response and attention on social media.
Particularly, the picture of a billboard near Ambedkar circle that read KA-19 v/s COVID-19 (KA-19 being the Vehicle Registration Code for the District), with a man in the background wearing boxing gloves has been making a buzz in the community.
A picture of the same billboard clicked by the famous cardiologist Dr Padmanabh Kamath has been shared on the Instagram account of Mangalore Meri Jaan with a caption, ” Billboards and hoardings are usually a form of distraction, especially near the hospital. This hoarding caught my attention. This is very meaningful with a good message near Ambedkar Circle.”
This picture has garnered over 4k likes and the same post is been widely shared by the netizens.
The KCCI found an immediate need to bring awareness among the people, Indian Red Cross Society, Dakshina Kannada, and Rotary Mangaluru too expressed their interest and joined the Campaign.
The theme of the Campaign was decided to be “Let’s Fight Back Together”. Presented both in English and Kannada, the campaign has been creating waves on social media and on the street, a sign that it is being very well received by the populace of Mangaluru City.
All together 14 hoardings are currently on display with various Covid-19 awareness messages.
