Mysuru: Rishikumara Swamiji who was recently arrested for his provocative and incendiary remarks about a mosque in Srirangapatna has now demanded a ban on burqa.
Out on bail, Rishikumar Swamiji said that he stands firm on demolishing the mosque at Srirangapatna and building a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman in the place.
He further said that the state government must identify the spots where temples have been demolished to build mosques.
Talking about the recent Hijab controversy in Udupi college, he said, ” Burqas should be banned all over the country. Students are demanding that they should be allowed to wear burqas inside the classroom. But how will they be recognised? How will you be sure that they are the ones sitting in the class? What if someone else appears for the examination wearing their burqas?”
