Darshan’s latest Kannada film ‘Kaatera’ is going strong at the box office and has concluded 2023 on an impressive note.
Rockline Productions confirmed the film’s box office success, amassing Rs 58.8 crore.
On the opening day, the movie garnered Rs 19.79 crore. Saturday saw a slight decline with earnings of Rs 17.35 crore, while Sunday surged with the highest figures at Rs 20.94 crore.
Directed by Tharun Sudhir, the film marks the acting debut of Aradhana, daughter of late producer Ramu and actress Malashri. Jagapathi Babu, Shruthi, Kumar Govind, Vaijanath Biradar, among others, form the cast.
Given the exceptional response in Karnataka, the producers are now eyeing international markets. According to Cinema Express, Rockline Venkatesh mentioned, “Kaatera will debut in Dubai on January 6, kicking off with a grand ‘Kaatera festival’ attended by the team.”
Additionally, the movie is also set for a global release across approximately 9 countries, including Germany, the UK, the USA, Canada, and Ireland. The release date will be revealed soon.
Venkatesh also outlined plans to dub the film in multiple languages.
Darshan to meet fans today
Rather than celebrating elsewhere, Darshan has chosen to share the excitement of Kaatera’s success with fans at Bengaluru’s Orion Mall today at 5 PM. He will be joined by the entire cast.
The film’s compelling story has been drawing crowds, especially families, contributing to its success. Darshan expressed gratitude on Twitter, thanking everyone for their immense love and blessings. The overwhelming support has deeply touched the ‘Kaatera’ team, he said.
