Puttur: Bajrang Dal workers reportedly intercepted a Swift car carrying cattle illegally on the road behind Kabaka Adyalaya Daivasthana.
According to sources, when Bajrang Dal Kabaka workers attempted to stop the car, the driver lost control and veered into a roadside drain. The car driver and occupants left the vehicle and the cows and fled.
Two cows and two calves were discovered in the car, their legs tied, sources added.
Sources claimed that Bajrang Dal workers from Kabaka, who received information that the cows were being transported illegally, instructed the car to stop. However, the driver attempted to escape, resulting in the car falling into the drain.
Puttur City police arrived at the spot and took the four cows and the damaged vehicle to the police station. Bajrang Dal workers have arranged water and fodder for the rescued cows.
