Chennai: Across the world research to create a vaccine for COVID-19 have been accelerated.

In India, trials of traditional medicine are promising some results.

In Tamil Nadu’s Tambaram, Siddha physicians have created a medicinal decoction called ‘Kabasura Kudineer.’

The infusion of herbs such as ginger, hippali, oma, kadukkai, amataballi, boiled in water, is used to form the decoction.

60 ml of this decoction was given to the 42 COVID-19 patients for 14 days and it reduced their cough, fever and fatigue.

Experts say that this decoction is effective in treating 64 types of fevers. However, the Tamil Nadu government has said that the decoction should be used only for boosting immunity and must not be considered a medicine.
