Kadaba: A customer at a poultry shop received a coloured photocopy of the Rs 100 currency note as change at Kodimbala here.
On Saturday, a customer purchased chicken meat at the shop owned by Ashraf. While returning the change, the shopkeeper gave him a Xerox copy of a Rs 100 note. The customer later gave the note to a rickshaw driver, Rajesh, who found it was just a Xerox copy of an original note.
Rajesh reported the matter to the Kadaba police, who went to the meat shop and questioned Ashraf about the fake note.
In his statement, Ashraf pleaded his innocence and told police that he had handed over the note given by another customer in hurry, without verifying its veracity.
