A tumultuous quarrel between a husband and wife took a tragic turn on Nov 4 in Chapalla, Kudmaru village of Kadaba taluk.
Kusuma (39) and her husband, Sanjeevan, had been embroiled in frequent disputes, and tensions reached a boiling point on that fateful Saturday evening. The verbal altercation escalated to alarming proportions, resulting in both individuals consuming poison in a fit of anger.
Upon learning of the dire situation involving the couple, local residents swiftly alerted their relatives. Regrettably, by the time family members arrived and rushed them to the hospital, Kusuma’s life could not be saved. Sanjeeva, on the other hand, clung to life in a critical condition. He was promptly transferred to a hospital in Mangalore, where he currently receives medical treatment. Authorities have registered a case regarding this incident with the Bellare police station.
