Kadaba: Barely three months after two people were killed in a tusker attack at Meenadi near here, another wild elephant attack took place in Aittur village, in which one person was seriously injured.
The injured has been identified as Choma (56), son Odi, a resident of Gerthila in Aittur village.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening near the Kartikeya Bhajana Mandira close to Nelyadka School when Choma was returning home from work. The elephant lifted Choma with its trunk and slammed him to the ground.
A seriously injured Choma was rushed to the Kadaba Government Hospital and later referred to a private hospital in Puttur for further treatment.
Forest Department officials visited the scene and conducted an inspection.
