Kadaba: Youth arrested in POCSO case

Kadaba: The Kadaba police have arrested a man on charges of sexual assault of a minor girl on the pretext of love.

The accused has been identified as Praveen Poojary, a resident of Kodimbala village, Kadaba taluk.

According to the complaint, the accused gained the girl’s trust and took her to a rented room, where he engaged in physical relations. He allegedly filmed the video and used it to blackmail her into continuing the physical relations on several occasions.

It is also alleged that the accused gave the girl birth control pills to prevent her from getting pregnant. He had also recorded videos of private moments on his mobile phone, the complaint states.

On Monday, he allegedly had physical contact with her ar a rented room in Kumbra. The next day, following a fight, he abandoned her near Farangipet. The girl reportedly informed her parents who took her home.

Further, the girl has alleged that the accused had promised to marry her, but had hidden his engagement to another woman.

Kadaba police arrested the accused in Sullia and registered a case against him under the POCSO Act.
