Kadaba: A youth was stabbed and seriously injured in a trivial argument in Antharu of Koyila Village here on Monday, August 15.
The victim has been identified as Mohammed Nawaz (29) son of Ibrahim of Antharu. The accused assailant Noufal (29), son of Adam, was arrested on Tuesday, police said.
According to the complaint registered at the Kadaba Police station, an incident related to a fish sale that took place about 6 months ago led to the crime. It is said that Noufal was angry that Nawaz had tipped off the police about Noufal’s brother Sinan who was a suspect in the tiff over a fish sale.
On Monday evening, Noufal allegedly called Nawaz to his shop and he picked a fight with him. He berated Nawaz before stabbing him with a knife, the complaint said.
Meanwhile, Nawaz was rushed to a private hospital in Puttur where is receiving medical treatment. Further investigations are underway, police said.
