Kalaburagi: An incident of a man attempting to rape a woman COVID-19 patient on Tuesday night was reported from the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences here.
The man was reported to be a private ambulance driver.
The incident reportedly occurred at midnight when the man came to Room No 429 in the Jayadeva Heartcare Centre at the hospital where the 25-year-old woman was undergoing treatment.
He removed the diaper and urine pipe from the sleeping woman and forced himself upon her. The woman woke up and screamed which woke up other patients nearby making the man flee.
Later, police officials arrived at the scene and recorded the description of the incident.
The accused has reportedly been caught and a probe is ongoing.
