Kalburgi: Marijuana seizures continues; 62kg confiscated at Chincholi

Kalburgi: In the local police’s campaign against marijuana in the taluk, a police team raided Dhari Tanda within the limits of Salagara Basantapura village panchayat and confiscated about 62 kilograms of marijuana grown in and around a house.

The marijuana seized was worth Rs 2.5 lakh. 1 kg of dry marijuana and 61 kg of raw marijuana was seized from the accused Dhanasingh Ramachandra Rathod.

Rathod had grown the marijuana illegally in front and the back of his house.

After receiving confirmed information, Chincholi DySP ES Veerabhadraiah, PI Mahantesh Patil, PSI Rajasekhar Rathod raided and seized the marijuana.

The accused, Dhanasingh, fled the scene as soon as police arrived. A case has been registered at Chincholi Station.

The Chincholi police personnel on Friday had seized 38 kilograms of marijuana and 88 kilograms last week.
