Kalladka: RSS Chief stresses use of knowledge for national development

Bantwal: RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat emphasized the importance of using knowledge for the nation’s progress and cultural preservation rather than for selfish pursuits. He was speaking at the illuminated sports festival held at Sri Rama Vidyakendra in Kalladka on Saturday evening.
Inaugurating the event by performing a milk abhisheka to the idol of Lord Rama, Bhagwat stated that education should not merely be a tool for earning a livelihood but should instill values and a sense of responsibility toward the weaker sections of society. “An educated individual must possess the wisdom to use knowledge rightly and nurture a love for everyone. Only such individuals are truly deserving of the title of being educated,” he said.
He praised the Vidyakendra for its value-based education, noting that the institution had been imparting quality education even before the implementation of the new National Education Policy. The institution provides free education aimed at developing students into thoughtful individuals, he added.
Event Highlights
The event, chaired by Vidyakendra founder-secretary Dr. Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka, witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta, MLAs Rajesh Naik, Harish Poonja, Umanath Kotian, and Bhagirathi Murulya, along with former ministers B. Nagaraj Shetty and Pramod Madhwaraj. Prominent businessmen and social figures like Prakash Shetty Banjar, Dr. Krishnaprasad Koodlu, and Santosh Kumar Dalandila were also in attendance.
Dr. Bhagwat commended the students’ performances, stating, “After witnessing the incredible displays by the children, there’s hardly a need for any speech. However, I must extend my congratulations to the institution and all involved.”
