A delegation, led by Minor Irrigation Minister N S Boseraju, met Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya here and submitted a memorandum urging the Centre to set up an AIIMS in Raichur.

Raichur stands out as one of the most underdeveloped districts in the state, grappling with insufficient healthcare amenities. Addressing this issue, the state government has committed to furnishing land and water free of cost for the proposed project. To establish the hospital, an investment of Rs 2,000 crore from the Central government is required, as stated by the delegation.

Subsequently, Boseraju informed the presspersons that the response from Union Minister Bhagwanth Khuba was affirmative. The delegation included Union Minister Bhagwanth Khuba and Members of Parliament Raja Amareshwara Naik and Karadi Sanganna.
