Chennai: Close aide of Kamal Hassan and a leader in the Makkal Needhi Maiam party led by him, A Arunachalam has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on December 25.
The formal joining process of Arunachalam was conducted here in the presence of Union minister and BJP leader Prakash Javadekar.
Assembly elections are due in Tamil Nadu next year and the BJP is putting all its efforts to make the lotus bloom in the southern State.
Already, prominent personalities of the State such as Annamalai and Khushboo Sundar have joined the party.
